When I was starting my brother used to throw pillows at me…. So hang on in there, I’ve been doing it for 25 years! 🤗 You will improve, just take it easy, practice long, slower bows to control the sound, 15 mins a day and you will be amazing in a few months!

Barbara The Violinist Oh you know what, there's actually another one, the Acoustic-Electric Violin. It's simply an Acoustic Violin w/ a pickup added to it.
Barbara The Violinist The Yamaha Silent Electric Violins designed to play like their Acoustic Counterparts because they're the same shape, plus they have a resonating chamber to make them feel & play like their acoustic counterparts.
I am not going to argue with you but that’s not the case with all electric violins.

This violin would sound nothing like it without being plugged in to a speaker or recorded through a software… the sound would be muted. I know because I own 4 different electric violins and unless a violin has a sound chamber, it will not sound like an acoustic one.

Why not just use the same strings on both violins?
You can use the same strings on both violins but they will not sound the same. It is due to a different build of both instruments and how the sound is being created. On electric violin the sound is created directly from the string, through a pickup and to the speaker. There is very little sound without them being plugged in to a speaker. On acoustic violin however, the sound travels from the strings, through the bridge to the sound box and it’s slightly more difficult to create a beautiful sound than on electric. Hope that explains it 🤗
